Are you a smoothie person?
The most common mistake when people make smoothies is that they are loaded with carbohydrates and sugar and not very balanced!
Smoothies are a great on-the-go breakfast option.
Creating balanced smoothies doesn’t have to be complicated.
Here’s how in four easy steps:
Your smoothie needs a source of protein! This might be a low sugar greek yogurt or protein powder.
Most people tell us they add 2-3 servings of fruit in their smoothies. To create a balanced smoothie, try to pick one serving of fruit and add in some veggies. Some of our favorite veggies to add in smoothies are spinach and frozen riced cauliflower. By adding veggies, you are adding volume and fiber which slows down digestion to help you stay full, longer!
Adding in healthy fat will help you stay full and satisfied! Try adding nut butter, nuts or avocado to your smoothie.
Many people tell us they add juice to their smoothies. The problem is that it adds excess sugar. Instead of grabbing the juice, try adding almond milk, milk or water to your smoothie to avoid excess sugar!
Do you struggle with consistency in the morning and getting a balanced breakfast in?
